Indie LLM 2024

Indie LLM is an event that is part of the Indie-Go Festival, where bands can sign up to perform their music live on stage. The Indie LLM concert in 2024 was held in Pfaffenhofen at a small venue associated with a music school. I was able to sign up as one of their photographers after connecting with the event’s host. The first band to perform was an indie rock band named ‘Midnight Poets Club’. The music performed by the band included their singles like the fan-favorite ‘Double Faced Snake. It was clear that the audience collectively enjoyed the performance, especially the fans who stood closest to the stage and sang along to the lyrics. A moment that stood out to me was when the two guitarists of the band joined the crowd during a fan-favorite song.

The band that followed was also an indie rock band called ‘Magazine Front Cover’. At this event, they performed their music project called ‘Blue Intended’, featuring their album ‘I Must Be Out of My Mind’. Their music was electrifying, and this was evident through the audience’s reaction. The lead singer had this energy that had almost the entire audience jumping and singing along, even if they didn’t know the lyrics. The last band to play was a heavy metal band called ‘IceCreamFromHell’. When they started performing, the energy in the room shifted instantly, and while the genre wasn’t the most popular among the audience, the dedicated fans couldn’t get enough of it. Heads were banging in unison, fists raised, and a mosh pit formed near the stage.

My goal during the event was to capture the personality of each band and the energy and emotions of each performance. Timing was a constant challenge; capturing those split-second moments like the lead singer reaching out to the crowd or the drummer caught mid-swing required patience and a little bit of luck. Looking back, shooting the Indie LLM concert was a fun and challenging experience. Each band brought something different to the stage, and my goal was to capture those moments that displayed the band’s personality. I’m excited to keep improving and take on more opportunities like this.
